Hand carved out of one branch of Olive wood, a recreation of the Michelangelo depiction of the Virgin Mary cradling her son Jesus. It shows the pity or compassion, and represent Mary sorrowfully contemplating the dead body of her son as she holds on her lap, after his Crucifixion.

Underneath this statue, you can find our “Bethlehem Wood Carving” seal of authenticity. Additionally, this statue is shipped with a separate certificate of authenticity.

This olive wood article is very solid, and durable. The surface has a fine finish that’s silky smooth to the touch.

Our artisans carve these products from pruned branches follow the standard pruning process. This is a beautiful and truly magnificent gift from the Holy Land.
